My name is Caspar Schlickum, welcome to my blog!
I work in digital advertising and media and am fascinated by how digital platforms and technology are changing how we do pretty much everything (work, communicate, entertain ourselves, learn, do business, discover new things, remember things we had forgotten, buy and sell).
Aside from this, I love design and photography, I DJ regularly around London and I am lucky to be able to travel a lot and discover different parts of the world.
So quite diverse really.
Annabel Candy on Copyblogger wrote a great little piece a while ago on the 8 habits of highly effective bloggers. I’m going to do my level best to stick to 7 of her 8 rules.
So which one am I going to ignore? Well frankly its number 5, the one about being focussed and consistent. Its not that I don’t agree, its just that Iwant to use this blog as somewhere write about and collect (curate even) all the things that interest and inspire me.
And that is why I have adopted the name Lighting the Fuse which comes from the great Mac Anderson quotation, “People are like dynamite; the power is on the inside and nothing happens until you light the fuse.”
This blog will inevitably be hopelessly unfocussed, and I am hoping to create some order in all this chaos, and certainly i hope that there are things here that inspire and interest you too.
Most importantly, I encourage you to comment on anything written here, I’d love to hear what you have to say.
Well done mate! Glad you’ve finally put your digital genius to digital paper!
Very cool.
Dude. The smiley on your blog… according to Word Press: ‘So we can tell you all the cool stats about how many visits you have had and which posts are the most popular, how people got to your site and all the other stats stuff you have in the Dashboard, we need a way to track things.
We do this by loading a small image to your page when someone looks at it and then we can get all the other information. And we chose a small smiley :)”
Thnaks for sharing. Always good to find a real expert.
