Sushi, but only my way

This is awesome. What do you do if your tiny sushi restaurant in Sydney suddenly gains a reputation that makes it impossible to make everyone happy?

Well, you start by only allowing in members, and hanging out a sign like this:

The restaurant, which is called Wafu and run by chef Yukako Ichikawa, costs around $30 per person (i.e. a pretty good deal). But thats not why its so special.

As the eat-in policy makes clear, you get a 30% discount if you eat what is on your plate (you may leave the lemon). From their website:

‘Please note that vegetables and salad on the side are NOT decorations; they are part of the meal too. Finishing your meal requires that everything is eaten except lemon slices, gari (sushi ginger) and wasabi.’

You must bring a container to take home any leftovers. This also applies if you want take-away. Its BYO container. Handily, they provide a guide as to what may constitute a suitable take away container.

And if you fail on these fronts, your membership is revoked presumably. Why can’t there be more places like this? Brilliant.
