Given the state of robotics in today’s world, it is not really hugely surprising that Raytheon (one of the world’s most innovative and largest defence companies) has developed a wearable robotics suit that effectively turns the wearer into a version of Iron Man.
Want to lift 200lb? No problem, the suit boosts the wearers power by a factor of 17, and as a result not only creates super soldiers, but super logistics personnel who can complete tasks faster and more effectively.
And a nifty little demonstration video as well, in which they also let us know that for now, these beasties use so much energy, that they need to be tethered. I’m actually a bit relieved to be frank.
