Incredible Lightening Strikes

I love thunderstorms and lightening. Very very frightening.

… and I particularly love these photos, although I am very glad that I wasn’t there. I glad that someone was there with a camera.

1. Statue of Liberty, NYC

2. Burj Khalifa, Dubai

3. Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro

4. Plane at Narita Airport, Tokyo

And a quick disclaimer on the below, the plane did make an emergency landing, and though it had a big hole in the side, somehow managed to land without anyone being seriously hurt.

This is an update: Someone recently posted this to Facebook (its early 2012 now), this was taken in Perth on Australia Day this year. To me, it looks like a skinny giant holding a bunch of flowers. Incredible photo. Really.

Unbelievable, what an amazing shot. Interestingly, the statue is thought to be hit by about 600 bolts of lightning each year – who says that lightning never strikes twice??
